Job Description

A non-profit organization in Phoenix is seeking an Employment Specialist who is responsible for strengthening employment and education opportunities for youth, young and homeless people.

*Responsibilities*:

  • Recruit experienced staff.
  • Create a comprehensive workforce development program to meet the needs of the organization.
  • Create and implement a plan for employee retention.
  • Research best practices for integrating employment and education services into homeless service delivery.
  • Assist in developing and implementing services for youth at risk and the homeless.
  • Provide feedback regarding staff training needs, staff retention strategies, communication mechanisms and employee recognition.
  • Supervise staff, training, appraisals, delivery of feedback and coaching as required.
  • Must be able to work flexible hours to ensure all shifts are provided ample support from management.
  • Create and foster a healthy, collaborative, safe work culture.

Skills / Requirements

  • Bachelor’s required and Master preferred.
  • Minimum 2 years’ experience in employee development or workforce development with Non-Profit organizations.
  • Must have strong working knowledge of Microsoft office suite, database software, HMIS experience preferred.
  • Must have a level one fingerprint clearance card.
